The YoLink Vibration Sensor is a general purpose vibration sensor that can be applied to physical security and non-security applications, including as a shock sensor, glass break sensor, tamper alarm, safe/cabinet security sensor, laundry machine sensor, generator sensor, sump pump sensor, etc.
Vibration, or the lack of vibration, can trigger notifications, alarms, device actions and other automations. This makes the sensor useful for many applications, including generator-test/-running, sump pump activity, and general activity-tracking (if device, appliance or equipment vibrates, shakes or moves while in operation).
The Vibration Sensor can be placed in or on an object, such as placed in a drawer or storage box. It can be adhered to an object, using the pre-applied 3M brand mounting tape. It can be affixed or screwed to an object, using the

YoLink Smart Vibration Sensor
YoSmart’s website indicates the device can be used to detect when washing machines and dryers stop. However, there are no specific directions on how to configure the device so it alarms when the machines stop, but NOT when someone opens/closes the doors. Lacking those specifics, the device produce annoying, worthless alarms that make the application unusable. I’d like to have my money back.
the device work as advertised but has to purchase more 3m tape as several fell off their mounts after several days
What I value is the long battery life, the effective distance and most of all the independence from external control and privacy invasions that are built in to many other security systems. These are the strengths of this product line.
