REQUIRED PRODUCTS (HUB):
For full functionality, including for the app to work, YoLink devices must connect to at least one hub (YoLink Hub or SpeakerHub), and that hub must have an internet connection. Unless you are adding devices to an existing YoLink account, or unless your building is covered by an existing YoLink or Raedius wireless network, please add one hub to your order.
SUGGESTED PRODUCTS:
We want you to get the most out of your YoLink products! Customers that use our indoor Motion Sensors for home security often do not think it can be used for lighting control, or vice versa, but you can use your Motion Sensor for both! Consider one of our light switches, teamed up with your motion sensors, to light a room up as you enter it. Hands-free and convenient! This is especially popular for bathroom foyers and vestibules (where your hands are typically full as you arrive home) as well as for walk-in closets, storage and laundry rooms.
If you've set up a motion sensor to turn on the bathroom light, you can arrange for the lights to turn automatically after a period without motion detection. Door sensors can also be used to determine if a light should turn on or off. For example, a door leading to the garage can have the garage lights turn on, then the motion sensor can turn them off after, for example, 10 minutes without motion being detected. This is extremely easy to set up in the app, as well as with IFTTT or Alexa or Google Assistant. In those cases, you can control non-YoLink lights, switches and plugs (as long as they have a "skill" or integration with IFTTT/Alexa/Google).
And, it is very easy to use your motion sensors for home security! Add one of our siren products, one of our hubs, and you have a basic security system. Add door sensors on exterior doors and windows, add an AlarmFob or FlexFob (to arm/disarm the system) and you have an easy to install and economical home security system!

Q: Are the batteries replaceable? A: Yes. They are easily replaced. It takes two AAA batteries.
Q: This can be mounted on a wall, too? A: Yes. Refer to the user guide for specific information on mounting heights, but the sensor can be wall-mounted. Please note, the sensor has a built-in magnet, that makes it very easy to install on metal surfaces.
Q: I can use this outdoors? A: Some customers have had success using our motion sensors in their mailboxes and carports or other outdoor locations (that have overhead cover and protection of the elements) but the sensor was designed for indoor use. Consider our Outdoor Motion Sensor for outdoor applications.
Q: Do I need the hub? A: Yes. For full functionality, and for the app to work, the Valve Controller must wirelessly connect to one of our hubs (the original YoLink Hub or the SpeakerHub - learn more here) that has an internet connection. It is possible to use Control-D2D pairing to establish links between your motion sensors, and a Siren Alarm or Dimmer Switch, for example, so that the siren will activate on motion detection, or the light will turn on for motion detection, but that is not the preferred normal operation. For the app to work, including remote viewing and controlling of your YoLink devices, device health checks, battery level, and firmware updates from the factory, you should have a hub.
