To enjoy all the features of your smart motorized valve, it requires a connection to a YoLink hub (with an internet connection). While you can utilize the motorized valve in a "standalone" mode, and use Control-D2D (device-to-device pairing) to pair your valve directly to water leak sensors and/or to a YoLink fob, these are intended to be "back-up" or supplemental configurations.
The app will not function without a hub, and without a hub, the Smart Motorized Valve can not report or inform you of device health issues, such as low batteries.
