YoLink resources
YoLink with Amazon Alexa
Link the YoLink skill, discover supported devices and scenes, then test a voice command or Routine with your exact model.
Before you start
Set up YoLink first
Add your devices in the YoLink app and confirm they work there.
Keep your hub online
Keep the required YoLink hub powered and connected to the internet for hub-based devices.
Use the right account
Have the Alexa app ready. Link the YoLink app account that contains your devices and scenes.
Enable the YoLink skill
Find YoLink in Alexa
Open the Alexa app. Go to More → Skills & Games and search for YoLink.
Enable and link your account
Open the YoLink skill, choose its enable/link option and sign in with your YoLink app account. Authorize the connection.
Discover supported devices and scenes
Follow Alexa's discovery prompts. You can also say “Alexa, discover devices.” Check the devices and available scenes in Alexa after discovery finishes.
Test the function you need
Use a clear device name. Check an available control or reading, then test any Routine you create with a real event.
Menu labels vary by app version. The YoLink setup tutorials include installing the Alexa skill.
Voice control and Routines are different
Voice commands
Use the commands exposed for the device, such as a supported control or sensor query.
Routine triggers
Check which device events Alexa offers as a Routine trigger. Discovery alone does not establish trigger support.
Scenes and actions
Use only the scenes and actions Alexa actually discovers. Test your YoLink scene in YoLink before using it in an Alexa Routine.
Build and test a Routine
- Open Routines in the Alexa app and create a new Routine.
- Choose the voice phrase or supported smart-home event that should start it.
- Choose an available action or discovered scene, save it and test the actual trigger.
FlexFob example: its manual describes Alexa Routine support for a button's short press. Alexa represents the buttons as motion-sensor events; long presses are not recognized by that integration. Find FlexFob manuals and resources →.
Temperature-sensor example: the current YS8003 manual describes temperature queries and high/low temperature Routine events, represented as motion sensors in Alexa. Humidity-triggered actions are not supported for that integration. This is model-specific. YS8003 manual: third-party services ↗ · Find your exact model's manual →
Check the model and the function
| Product | What you can use | Requirements and limits |
|---|---|---|
| FlexFob (YS3604F) | Start a Routine with a short press on any of its four buttons. Alexa presents each button as a motion event. | Long presses are ignored by the Alexa integration. Requires the linked YoLink skill and an online hub. |
| SpeakerHub (YS1604) | Play a prepared YoLink scene as a discovered Alexa Routine action. The scene can play a SpeakerHub message. | Create and test the scene in YoLink first; discovering a hub does not expose every sound or message as a separate Alexa action. |
| Local Hub (YS1606) | Use its separately configured local automations, Local API or Matter path where supported. | This page describes the internet-based YoLink skill. Local Hub does not make that skill or Alexa Routines work offline. |
Troubleshooting
The skill will not link to my account
Confirm your sign-in works in the YoLink app and that you are linking the account containing the devices. Reopen the YoLink skill in Alexa and follow its account-linking prompts. If it still fails, send support the exact error and the step where it appears.
Alexa discovers no devices, or one is missing
- Check that the device works in YoLink and its required hub is online.
- Check the exact model's Alexa support and the account linked to the skill.
- Run device discovery again after adding a supported device or scene.
- Look for the device's actual name and available functions in Alexa.
My sensor appears, but cannot start a Routine
Check the events Alexa offers for that model. A reading, a device tile and a Routine trigger are different functions. Describe the exact event you want to support if you contact us; another model's behavior is not a reliable substitute.
A scene or Routine does not run
Test the scene or device action in YoLink first. Then check that Alexa discovered it and that your Routine uses the intended trigger and action. Save the Routine and test its real trigger rather than relying only on its preview.
The YoLink skill is unavailable in my region
Skill availability can depend on your Amazon account's country/region and marketplace. Check the availability shown by Amazon for your account, and contact support if you cannot find YoLink.
