Additional FlexFob Features

Control D2D (device-to-device pairing enabled)

The FlexFob is compatible with YoLink Control-D2D device-to-device pairing; can directly control compatible YoLink devices, like a Relay or Smart Plug. This makes it ideal for "offline" or "standalone" applications, where there's no internet connection and/or no Hub (to provide an internet connection for your YoLink devices), as well as for applications where an app is not required or desired, such as for simple applications like the control of a relay or gate operator.

Please note: the FlexFob can operate without an internet connection and without a YoLink hub, making it ideal for standalone applications. But, in these cases the app will not function, no low battery level notifications will be sent, and firmware updates (product enhancements, etc.) can not be performed without a connection to YoLink hub and YoLink app account.

Alexa Integration

Regarding the Alexa integration, each button has the following capabilities:
- Activate one Alexa routine (one per button X four buttons = 4 Alexa routines)

- The Alexa app is required, and the YoLink skill must be installed

IFTTT Integration

Regarding the IFTTT integration, each button has the following capabilities:

Smart fob for elder care

FAQ

What is the wireless range of the FlexFob?

The FlexFob is designed with LoRa long-range/low-power technology, which allows for up to 1000 feet of open-air wireless range.

Do I need a hub if I am using the Alexa integration?

Yes. The Alexa integration operates via an internet connection, which is provided to the fob by a YoLink Hub or SpeakerHub. You also want to have a hub so that you can get low-battery alerts, and to perform firmware updates, etc.

Can the FlexFob be used outside?

Yes, the FlexFob is weather-resistant and can be used outdoors.

Are the batteries replaceable?

Yes, the fob uses two standard alkaline AAA batteries. The battery cover is accessible from the back of the fob. After removing the screw (with a small Phillips screwdriver) gently pry off the cover with a slotted screwdriver. Replace the two AA batteries, then snap the cover back on, and reinsert and tighten the screw.

X3 Commercial Grade Smart Outdoor Alarm Controller & Siren Kit (YoLink Hub REQUIRED) (110 Decibel)

So far so good

Our house was built in the 60s and the water intake line is buried in a wall. I bought this valve because it required the least amount of space for covering the wall back up, somewhat simplifying the process. It has a manual shut off in case there is zero power. It takes a lot of turning of a small knob, but at least it's a back up. We kept the original valve on the house in addition. There is AC power AND battery backup, which is ideal for us. The app seems to work well, and I could operate the valve with it. I haven't tried it from outside the house, but hopefully I will never need to use it.

The plumber had no issues installing it. He had to cut out a space about 16 inches long to install the valve. Since the unit has a battery pack, if an outlet is not nearby, it can be installed later and operate with just the batteries.

The components seem well built. The mailperson dropped the package from a few feet onto our wood floor from our front door, which is a dutch door, but nothing was broken.

The app is simple, but I had difficulty finding where to add more sensors after adding one. The app could use some interface improvements. But most importantly is having the whole house shutoff valve installed in order for the property to be covered by insurance in California.

YoLink Hub

It's a great product

Functions well, I use it in my restaurant for equipment that might be older than I am. I can monitor everything from my cell phone while I'm at home and if I choose I can show the health dept the history of each monitor. I do wish it could be used on my laptop but for the price and function, the cell phone app is adequate
