It took some help from tech support to get things working, but once set up the devices are working very well locally with Home Assistant. I was happy that they finally came through on that promise. On the other hand, I expected that some of the fobs would not get local support, but was frustrated to find that my vibration sensors and water valves also do not work in Matter. I was told that it was Matter that did not support the vibration sensors, and yet the Aqara brand has vibration sensors in their Matter support list. I pointed this out to YoLink, not sure what to expect on that. If you are looking for local control on all your devices as it claims, it is not there yet unfortunately.
Pricing on this is ridiculous. I paid for it with a 15% off coupon, but even the box and packaging made this feel like a $30 hub. Box came crushed with no protection ala aliexpress style packaging. It works exactly how I want though, so while I recommend it, its most certainly has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Super happy to see Matter and Local control come to YoLink and now I am happy to go all in on YoLink for many more devices that i would have considered mission critical and not something i would do without local support.
As of 7/22 not all devices are working on Local yet including Vibration sensor, Garage Controller and Smoke / CO detectors are not showing up in Matter or Home Assistant yet, but others are working as expected. Also noticed that the SmartFlow is missing some entities such as the flow data. But fully expecting this is new and that YoLink is working on bringing full support to all these devices over the coming months.
Thank you YoLink for working on Local support it was something i was hoping would happen and its great to see this is becoming a reality, please continue to work on it so we can go all in on this ecosystem.
Got it going with ha using matter. It's works ok but not ready to rely on it yet. Yolink told me to connect using json but that is out of my comfort level. In my situation I will need at least 4 and at 200 dollars they don't work quite easy enough yet. If they can Integrate better/easier with ha they will be worth the money.
AUD$463 ?!??! you have to be kidding me. I've been holding off buying YoLink as I want a non-cloud / local version. Seems like I'll continue waiting and looking elsewhere.
