Toilets & Under Sinks
For toilets, place the Water Leak Sensor 1 on the floor, near or behind the toilet. Place one sensor under each sink, ideally under each drain pipe trap. See also: Water Leak Sensor 2.

Toilets & Under Sinks
Hang the Water Leak Sensor 2 from the included mounting hook, or mount it with the optional ruggedized wall-mount bracket. Place the cord on the floor, along the wall, behind the toilet and/or below sinks. The cord can also be laid across the floor, but use care to avoid it being stepped on, and it should be moved when the floor is mopped, etc. Extension cords in 4' (1 meter) and 10' (3 meter) lengths are available.

Kitchen Sinks & Dishwashers
YoLink puck style water sensors (like the Water Leak Sensor 1, 4 and 5) are ideal for detecting leaks under sinks. Place it under the drain pipe trap, and it will catch and detect water dripping from above, as well as pooling around it.
Dishwasher leaks often occur at the front. But depending on a number of factors, including a slight slope in the floor, water that leaks from under or behind the washer may not be visible at the front. A puck style water sensor at the front of the washer is best, in this case. Consider our Water Leak Sensor 2 if the space under and behind the washer is accessible.

Kitchen Sinks & Dishwashers
Use the Water Leak Sensor 2's included hook or optional ruggedized wall-mount bracket to secure the sensor to the cabinetry interior. For dishwashers, route the cord under and around the dishwasher, ideally. Ensure the cord is under the water inlet and outlet connections. For sinks, place the cord so that it encircles the area under the sink. Extension cords up to 10' (3 meter) in length are available. See also: Water Leak Sensor 1.
