YoLink Water Leak Sensor 3

The signal from the device is very good. It appears to be working however I haven't had a water leak yet, which is a good thing. For now, I'll give this a 5. If it fails to work if I have a leak, I'll update the post.

I have my well fill my 6000 gallon tank each night for 10 minutes every hour from 10 PM until 6 AM. (don't want to run the well hole dry). I have an electric solenoid valve that controls the tank fill. It's timed with a Yolink outdoor Plug Schedule.
The tank has a float that cuts off the well fill valve when the tank is full. That works great. So, as a backup, I put the Sensor 3 Probe in a 45º conduit fitting so any tank condensation wouldn't drip on the sensor. Then mounted the conduit/sensor through a hole near the top of the tank at a location just above where the float turns off the well-fill valve.
So, if for some reason, the float hangs up or doesn't work, the sensor will turn off the fill valve.
The Yolink Automation settings are settings are:
"When" Leak Sensor has Water Leak Alert, "Then" Turn off Tank Fill Plug/Valve.
Alarm Strategy: Default.
Alert Interval: 1 minute.
Delayed Alarm: 2 seconds.
So, with those settings, if water in the tank touches the Leak Sensor, the tank fill valve will turn off. And when the Plug/Valve tries to turn the fill water valve back on again and the sensor is still wet, the valve will turn off in less than one minute (the minimum time available for Alert Interval).
And, it mounts from the outside of the tank so I don't have to try to get my arm inside the tank access hole cover to do anything.
I guess this could be used instead of a float but I like the redundancy of the float and Leak Detector.

This sensor is set up as a back-up to another septic pump-station alarm that loses Wi-Fi connectivity a little too often for comfort. When I first connected the Water Leak Sensor 3 into my YoLink system I linked it to the hub, then immediately left for a Super Bowl party. When I got home about 6 hours later I had 82 Email alerts [one every five minutes] and 9 text alerts. That ate up a significant chunk of my monthly allotment. I have the data saver for SMS turned on, which I thought is supposed to limit texts to a single alarm per incidence, so I'm still not sure why so many texts. The Email interval can be extended to one each 4 hours, but not limited to [my preference] one alarm per leak detection as far as I can tell. The cause of all this alarming? I hadn't plugged the sensor wire into the leak sensor body yet, since I wasn't yet ready to install it. Don't do this!
As with other YoLink products, the devices seem pretty good, but the documentation is not. You're kind of left to trial and error, or watching too fast and incomplete instructional video after video hoping to find the info you need to operate the devices. And the app interface consists of color schemes and tiny text that appears to have been designed for unreadability. Teeny tiny pale yellow text on a white background is but one glaring example [of many]. I like the YoLink devices, but the app needs serious work, and there needs to be much more comprehensive [ideally system-wide] instructions - dare I say an Owner's Manual.
I've dealt with a couple of YoLink customer service reps [because the available instructions are inadequate] and one was pretty good. The other seemed fairly disinterested, not taking the time to understand my questions, and providing bare minimum, off-target answers.
