Frequently-Asked Questions
After adjusting the settings in 'Water Meter Settings,' users must press the set button on the Yolink water meter to upload the changes.
The water meter equipment can be integrated with Home Assistant, but Google Action does not currently support it.
The FlowSmart NSF Water Meter (YS5007 and YS5006) is a mechanical water meter that provides readings of water flow but does not have a built-in valve. In contrast, the Flow Smart All in One (YS5008) is an ultrasonic water meter that not only provides readings of water flow but also includes a built-in valve.
The reading displayed on the app differs from the reading on the device itself, refreshing once every hour. Each revolution of the mechanical water meter triggers a pulse signal sent to the Yolink FlowSmart Meter, ensuring consistent readings between the two meters. As for app synchronization data, updates are sent out every hour.
The graph uses time on the horizontal axis and water consumption on the vertical axis. It visually represents the water usage pattern over a specific timeframe. When water usage stops, the vertical axis resets to zero.
To sync the readings on your YoLink Water Meter with the app, please follow these steps:
1. Open the YoLink app.
2. Navigate to the Details page of your YoLink Water Meter.
3. Press "Water Meter Advanced Settings".
4. In the General section, click on ‘Sync Meter Reading’.
5. Edit the 'Meter Reading' to match the reading on your physical meter, then save the changes.
6. On the 'Water Meter Settings' page, press the checkmark in the upper right corner to save the changes.
7. Finally, manually press the ‘set’ button on your YoLink Water Meter to update the data.
Following these steps should ensure that the data on your YoLink Water Meter and the app are synchronized accurately.
This discrepancy may occur if your device was disconnected from the hub at some point. When this happens, the hourly data on the bar graph is not recorded, though the water consumption is still tracked locally on the device. Once the connection is restored, the total water consumption is updated, but the hourly consumption data remains missing.
The data is refreshed every hour at most.
The FlowSmart Meter YS5007 sends an alert if water usage exceeds 50 gallons in a single day.
If your water valve size is 1.5 inches or larger, set the water meter equivalent to 1.
If your water valve size is smaller than 1.5 inches, set the water meter equivalent to 0.1.
Unfortunately, the meter cannot display information through the app on its own. It needs to be connected to the meter sensor for that capability.
On the 'Water Meter Advanced Settings' page, you'll encounter two significant sections relevant to your query: 'Leak Detection' and 'Overflow Protection.'
In the 'Leak Detection' segment, you can define a threshold for alert notifications based on water flow volume. By establishing a limit for a specific number of gallons, you'll receive alerts whenever this threshold is surpassed. This feature proves especially valuable during periods of absence, such as when adhering to an "away" schedule.
Furthermore, within the 'Overflow Protection' section, you're presented with the opportunity to configure parameters for ongoing water usage. If water usage continues beyond the predetermined value, the Yolink water meter will promptly send you an alert notification. Moreover, you can specify either the quantity of gallons or the duration in minutes of uninterrupted water flow that would trigger an alert message.
