FAQ
Do I need a hub?
Most YoLink sensors and controllers need a compatible YoLink hub to connect with the app and supported cloud features. A starter kit is usually the simplest first purchase because it includes the connection your devices need.
What should I do when a device shows offline?
- Check the hub first. If several devices went offline together, confirm hub power and your internet connection. Check the hub's model-specific indicators and network connection.
- If only one device is offline, check its specified battery/power supply, location and distance from a working hub. Follow its manual for a local status check.
- Check for recovery. Confirm a new event or status reaches the app. A battery sensor may report on events or its model's reporting interval.
Record the model, indicators, time and checks completed if the problem continues. Contact support before repeated resets, deletion or rebinding.
How do I choose the right sensor or kit?
Start with the condition you want to detect, where it will be installed, and whether you want an alert, a direct local action, or both. Product compatibility and required accessories vary.
Why are notifications, SMS or family-member alerts missing?
- Confirm the device's event appears in YoLink and its required hub is online.
- Check the Alarm Strategy assigned to that device: enable the intended channel and recipients. Inviting a Home member does not by itself select them for every alert.
- For phone push, check each recipient's YoLink settings, phone notification permissions and quiet/Focus settings. For email, verify the recipient's email address.
- For SMS, check the administrator's phone number, SMS settings and current allowance/subscription. SMS recipients differ from app/email recipients; check the choices shown for your account.
Test the real event and each intended channel. The app's diagnosis test checks app/email notifications; it does not establish SMS delivery or trigger a siren/SpeakerHub.
Can a YoLink action work if the internet is unavailable?
Some compatible devices support Control-D2D direct pairing for a defined local action. This is not available for every device or every feature. Confirm the exact pairing and offline behavior in the manuals for both products before relying on it.
How do I share a Home or move a bound device?
Share access: invite the other person's own YoLink app account as a Home member and review their permissions. They do not need to bind the device again.
Move a device: save its QR code and note its setup first. The current owner must remove it from the original Home before it can be added to the destination Home/account. Check and test the destination's alerts and automations afterward.
If you see already bound, confirm the original Home/account. A factory reset is not an account-transfer procedure. If the owner is unavailable or the message persists, contact support.
Will reinstalling the app remove my devices?
Your system is associated with your YoLink account, not only the app installed on one phone. Sign back into the same account. If anything is missing, contact support before resetting or rebinding devices.
Can I use rechargeable batteries?
Use the battery type and voltage specified in the manual for each device. Rechargeable cells can have different voltage and discharge behavior, so do not substitute them unless the product documentation explicitly supports them.
Which smart-home platforms work with YoLink?
Integration support varies by product and by function. Review the current integration guidance for Amazon Alexa, Google Home, IFTTT, and Home Assistant, then confirm that the specific action you need is supported.
Does YoLink connect directly to Zigbee, Z-Wave, or standard LoRaWAN gateways?
Do not assume that products using different wireless standards connect directly. YoLink devices are designed around the YoLink ecosystem and compatible YoLink hubs. Use a documented third-party integration when one is available.
Is there a browser dashboard for larger deployments?
Raedius is YoLink’s browser console for centralized monitoring and management, primarily for property/facility managers, contractors, and service providers. Residential use is allowed; the standard YoLink app generally suits a single home better. Confirm exact-model support and deployment requirements with the YoLink team.
Where can I find returns and warranty information?
Read the current returns and exchanges policy and warranty information. Contact support with your order number and product details if your situation is not covered clearly.
