A YoLink hub is required for app access and remote alerts; sold separately. A compatible existing ball valve in good working order and sufficient mounting clearance are required. Check handle travel, bracket fit and manual-clutch access. Configure and test any leak-triggered shutoff before relying on it.

Description

Add smart shutoff control to a compatible existing ball valve using Valve Controller 2 and Bulldog.

The Bulldog operator attaches to a compatible existing ball valve without cutting pipe. Check handle movement, bracket fit, and access to the manual clutch before installation.

Can be remotely-installed from the valve device, with optional extension cables.

The valve operator bolts onto a compatible existing ball valve.

Recommended ball valve sizes: 1/2", 3/4", 1".

Ball valve must be in good working order.

Use an overhead cover where the installation calls for added weather protection.

The YS5003S controller supports valve-position input for positive open/shut feedback.

After pairing compatible leak sensors and the controller for Control-D2D, configured shutoff can operate without internet while both devices remain powered and within radio range.

Leak-triggered shutoff needs a compatible sensor and prior setup. Check the local-action and power requirements for the controller and connected valve.

Good products, but need added support for secure installation

Purchased YoLink Valve Controller 2 + Bulldog Valve opener + multiple water-leak sensors. Easy to connect Valve controller + sensors via D2D pairing, but cumbersome because you have to open and then close the valve each time in order to pair a new sensor. Bulldog valve opener works ok, but did not stay "fixed" using only the supplied clamp. I wound up building a support platform underneath the Bulldog and then clamping the device onto that platform so that the Bulldog wouldn't wobble when turning the valve open/closed. Works fine now.

Stellar Performer

Installation is straightforward and operation is flawless once the bracket is properly aligned and secured. The Bulldog reliably operates the valve via the YoLink App, the set button on the controller, or D2D paired devices. I especially appreciate the addition of AC operation of the controller 2 with the battery serving as a backup power source. Having experienced significant water damage in the past from a leaking toilet I settled on the YoLink system 5 years ago and used it extensively in two homes. The Bulldog/Contoller 2 combination is a further refinement of the robot valve system that provides enhanced operability while maintaining existing valve hardware without any modifications for those who prefer that type of installation. I strongly recommend this system to anyone wanting a robust solution to automate closure of the main valve when integrated with YoLink leak sensors.

Problems with controller

Could not download QR code on controller someone in California up dated QR code it was a success then tried setting to set up WiFi not successful I done everything they told me to do factory reset new battery’s I sent order # and my address to send new controller hope that works

Purchase wrong item

The team at YoLink were amazing. I inadvertently ordered the wrong valve control after speaking with customer service. They advise me on what valve control I actually needed and send me the correct one with a shipping label to return the one that I purchased great job everyone keep up the good work.

Works as designed!

I purchased this system to replace the defunct Guardian leak sensor. So far this system is working as designed with no issues.
