The YoLink Plug Mini is not working as expected. Is there a workaround?

Please press the power button on the plug and listen for a clicking sound. If there is no sound, it may indicate a problem with the plug. Please contact YoLink customer support with your findings. They will be able to provide further assistance and potential solutions for your situation. Please kindly note that the inductive load greater than 2amps can not be plugged into the mini plug. The mini plug only supports 2 amps inductive load and 10 amps resistive load.


Why is the YoLink Mini Plug (YS6604) shutting down automatically when I use it?

The YoLink Mini plugs are not designed for use with high-power appliances. In the event of detecting high temperature or current overload, the mini plug will automatically disconnect the protection circuit. YoLink is set to release plugs specifically designed for high-power devices by the conclusion of the second quarter 2024.

Is there an electrical limit on the YoLink Plug Mini?

Yes, the YoLink Plug Mini has specific electrical limits for safe operation:

Input: 100-120V AC, 60Hz

Output: 100-120V AC, 10A MAX (Resistive), 2A MAX(inductive)

It's essential to adhere to these limits to ensure proper functioning and avoid potential safety hazards.


Can the YoLink Plug Mini work with other brand smart devices? Is the YoLink Plug Mini compatible with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant? Can I integrate the YoLink Plug Mini with IFTTT? 

Yes, the YoLink Plug Mini offers remote control through the YoLink app, timer and scheduling functions, and the ability to create smart scenes and automation between the Plug Mini and YoLink sensors. It is also compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT.

If other brand smart devices support Alexa, Google, or IFTTT, you can create routines or applets to control the YoLink Plug Mini in conjunction with those devices.

I could not find an action or connection for the Smart Plugs on IFTTT. Is there a workaround?

The YoLink Plug Mini works with IFTTT as a triggered device. When you are setting up an IFTTT applet, you can find the YoLink Plug Mini under the "Then" section. Look for the "Turn on/off outlet" action, where you should be able to find and select your YoLink Plug Mini.

Why does the YoLink Plug Mini keep disconnect frequently?

There are two possible reasons:

Incomplete device status loading due to poor mobile phone network connectivity. Ensure that your mobile phone has a strong and stable network connection for optimal performance.

Insufficient interval time between device operations. If the device is operated too quickly or repeatedly, it may not fully respond, leading to connectivity issues. Ensure that the interval time between operations is more than 6 seconds to avoid this problem.

Can I control the YoLink Plug Mini remotely?

Yes, you can remotely turn the plug on or off using the YoLink app.

Does the YoLink Plug Mini have scheduling and timer functions? What is the difference between the schedule and timer functions in the YoLink app?

Absolutely! The plug has both scheduling and timer functions, which can be set up through the YoLink app. The timer function in the YoLink app is designed for one-time events, whereas the schedule function is for setting up recurring events. Both of these settings are saved in the device itself, allowing them to function even without an internet connection.

Can I create smart scenes and automations with the YoLink Plug Mini?

Yes, you can set up smart scenes and automations for the Plug Mini using the YoLink app.

If there is a power outage and the power is restored, will the YoLink Plug Mini automatically turn back on?

You can customize the power-on behavior in the YoLink app. Go to the Device screen, tap the three dots in the upper right corner to access the Device Details screen, and select "Power on status." From there, you can set the plug to turn back on to its previous state (last state), turn all on, or turn all off.

Does automation for a YoLink Smart Plug operate from the cloud or within the plug itself? For instance, if I want to remotely reboot my PC or router using a Smart Plug.

Please note that any automation set up through the app is stored on our cloud server. However, if there's a network outage, these automations won't work as intended. Therefore, you won't be able to use the smart plug to reboot or power cycle the router or YoLink hub.

Can I see the remaining time for the timer on the YoLink Plug Mini?

Yes, make sure your YoLink app is up to date. The remaining time for the timer should be displayed on the device screen within the app.

What is the difference between the YoLink Energy Plug and the Plug Mini?

The primary difference between the YoLink Energy Plug and the Plug Mini is that the Energy Plug features energy monitoring capabilities, allowing you to track and analyze your power consumption. The Plug Mini, on the other hand, does not have this function. Additionally, the maximum output for the YoLink Energy Plug is 12.5A, while the maximum output for the YoLink Plug Mini is 10A.

My YoLink Plug Mini has been losing connection every couple of weeks. Is there a workaround?


First, try resetting the plug by pressing and holding the power button for 20-23 seconds to perform a factory reset. After that, reboot your phone and test the plug for a couple of days. If the issue persists, please contact YoLink customer support for further assistance.

How can I configure the system to turn on the YoLink Plug Mini remotely when the Water Leak Sensor detects a leak?

There are several ways to set up your Water Leak Sensor to turn on the YoLink Plug Mini:

1.Create smart automation within the YoLink app.

2.Establish routines in Alexa.

3.Develop applets in IFTTT between the YoLink Water Leak Sensor and YoLink Plug Mini.

Note that smart automation, Alexa routines, and IFTTT applets require a YoLink Hub and an internet connection. Alternatively, you can set up YoLink Control between the Water Leak Sensor and the Plug Mini, which operates without a YoLink Hub or an internet connection.

How do I use YoLink Control to set up communication between the door sensor and the smart plug?

To use YoLink Control between the door sensor and the smart plug, follow these steps:

To turn off the Plug Mini when the door sensor is closed:

a. Find a closed-door sensor (controller). Press and hold its SET button for 5-10 seconds until the light flashes green quickly.

b. Find a turned-off Plug Mini (responder). Press and hold its POWER button for 5-10 seconds until the light flashes blue quickly.

c. Once pairing is successful, the lights will stop flashing. Now, when the door sensor is closed, the Plug Mini will turn off.

To turn on the Plug Mini when the door sensor is opened:

a. Find an opened door sensor (controller). Press and hold its SET button for 5-10 seconds until the light flashes green quickly.

b. Find a turned-on Plug Mini (responder). Press and hold its POWER button for 5-10 seconds until the light flashes blue quickly.

c. Once pairing is successful, the lights will stop flashing. Now, when the door sensor is opened, the Plug Mini will turn on.


Does the programming work when the internet is down?

If the internet is disconnected, remote control of the YoLink Plug Mini through the app will not work. However, schedules and timers saved in the device itself will continue to function. YoLink Control, which allows you to use the YoLink Remote to turn the Smart Plug Mini on or off, can also operate without an internet connection.


Say I have a few door gates with sensors, and I would like a light to be on if any door is open, and off if all doors are closed. How do I do this with the YoLink Plug Mini?

To set up a light to be on if any door is open, create a new scene in the YoLink app: - plug - on. Then, go to the alarm strategies and find the strategy related to your door sensors. Trigger the scene in the strategy.

To set up a light to be off if all doors are closed, create an automation in the YoLink app like this:

If gate 1 is closed,

Apply a filter and continue if gate 2 is closed,

Apply another filter and continue if gate 3 is closed,

Turn off the light.
