Full-length leak detection
YoLink new generation sensors, featuring Class E technology, are designed for responsive status access, dependable monitoring, and long battery life. Water Leak Sensor 6 includes an 11.5 ft braided sensing rope that detects water anywhere along its length, helping monitor hidden leak paths behind appliances and inside cabinets.
Up to 2,034 ft of open-air range
LoRa YoLink Protocol connects Water Leak Sensor 6 to any YoLink Hub across up to 2034 feet in open air. Monitor indoor pump rooms, detached garages, basements, and other hard-to-check spaces from your home’s hub. Actual range varies with buildings, obstructions, and environmental conditions.
Up to 10 years of battery life
Two preinstalled AA lithium batteries help reduce battery changes in rarely visited equipment rooms and concealed installation areas. Battery life varies with settings, alarms, environment, and battery condition. One-screw battery access makes replacement straightforward when needed.
Alerts and control in the YoLink app
Receive App, email, and SMS alerts; tap to read current status; customize delayed alarms, repeat reminders, latching, and scheduled Do Not Disturb. Review and export alarm history, and share access with family. A YoLink Hub and internet are required; hub sold separately. SMS usage limits apply.
Automatic shutoff during outages
After prior D2D setup, Water Leak Sensor 6 can directly trigger a compatible battery-powered YoLink valve to close during an internet, hub, or household power outage. Compatible valve sold separately. A YoLink Hub and internet are required for setup, App control, and remote alerts.
Temperature and humidity monitoring
Monitor ambient conditions at the sensor body as well as water along the rope. Set low-temperature alerts for freeze-prone pipe areas, high-temperature alerts, separate rapid-rise and rapid-drop alerts, and high or low humidity limits. Freeze-risk alerts reflect ambient temperature, not direct detection of ice inside a pipe.
Extended coverage and connection alerts
Route the flexible rope around equipment edges and supply connections. Compatible sensing-rope extensions have been tested to a total connected length of up to 1,640 ft; extensions sold separately. Receive a Probe Disconnected alert if the rope is unplugged. The rope is waterproof; keep the non-waterproof sensor body dry and indoors.
YoLink and smart-home integrations
Use any YoLink Hub and supported Alexa, IFTTT, and Home Assistant integrations for leak-triggered routines and automations. If one hub goes offline, Water Leak Sensor 6 can automatically connect to an available backup hub that is powered, online, and within range. Additional hubs and action devices sold separately.
Placement, indication & setup
Mount the sensor body in a dry location near the floor and route the sensing rope along likely leak paths. Only the sensing rope is waterproof; keep the sensor body dry. A mounting screw is required and is not included.
Pair the sensor with a compatible YoLink valve or valve controller for automatic water shutoff. Once paired through YoLink Control-D2D, local shutoff can operate without an internet connection or an online Hub.
The sensor also alerts you if its sensing rope is unplugged. Local leak indication is a flashing LED rather than an audible alarm. Shutoff devices and additional sensing cables are sold separately.
