I already had the wall plug powered version for main water supply valve in my house. Then I needed to control two valves outside where I have no power. The battery powered version was just as easy to install and connect to the app as the other one I have. If you need this type of thing I highly recommend YoLink.
I recently installed this unit in my home and it is working great. It is able to turn the valve and shut off the water within a few seconds of the leak sensors detecting moisture. I had to fit it in a tight space between my water heater and garage wall, so I had to mount the EVO Valve Operator upside down to make it fit, but it seems to still work fine upside down. It was a challenge to reach in and tighten the hose clamps, but I got it eventually. Definitely make sure you measure your space before buying, and verify that it will fit in both the open and closed position. The X3 controller gave me no issues and just worked immediately.
Well designed, works with even very stiff ball valves, and nicely automated shutoff with YoLink's leak sensors.
