Description

Control a compatible garage opener from the YoLink app and check whether the door is open or closed. The wired controller connects to the opener’s wall-button circuit.

Before you buy

A YoLink hub is needed for app control and door-status alerts; sold separately. A compatible opener wall-button circuit is required; check it using the guide’s compatibility test.

Important information

Install the controller indoors and dry. Keep the garage door travel path clear and preserve the opener’s safety devices; a sent command does not confirm door movement. Mount indoors on the uppermost moving panel of a suitable sectional garage door with the specified orientation. Keep the sensor dry; this sensor reports position and does not operate the door.

Excellent upgrade for older garage door open

I installed two of these kits on my 1996 garage door openers, and they’ve been fantastic. Installation was straightforward, and they brought modern smart features to openers that I was ready to replace.

The range has been excellent—I can reliably operate the doors from about half a block away. Notifications are fast and dependable, so I always know when a door opens or closes. I also added a YoLink key fob in my car, which gives me a convenient physical button in addition to the app.

The YoLink app is clean, responsive, and easy to use. It’s a refreshing change from some other garage door apps that have become cluttered and less user-friendly over the years.

If you have an older garage door opener that’s still mechanically sound, this kit is a great way to modernize it instead of replacing the entire system. Highly recommended.

Amazing sensor and toolkit

I am slowly building out my smart home and YoLink has been an integral part of the process. I recently purchased their garage door sensor and controller kit and it's been amazing. Not only do I have control of my garage from anywhere, I also know if it's open or closed. This has saved me a couple of times when something interrupted the door while closing. Instead of leaving my garage open all day, I got a prompt notification and was able to check and close the door remotely.
