REQUIRED PRODUCTS (HUB):
For full functionality, including for the app to work, YoLink devices must connect to at least one hub (YoLink Hub or SpeakerHub), and that hub must have an internet connection. Unless you are adding devices to an existing YoLink account, or unless your building is covered by an existing YoLink or Raedius wireless network, please add one hub to your order.

Q: Can I manually operate the valve? A: Yes. The valve has a manual operation knob on the top. On the underside of the sensor, after removing the waterproof screw hole plugs, remove the four screws to access the battery area. The sensor uses two AAA batteries, standard alkaline (lithium is optional), but do not use rechargeable batteries. You should get upwards of 5 years between battery changes!
Q: Do I need the hub? A: Yes. For full functionality, and for the app to work, the Valve Controller must wirelessly connect to one of our hubs (the original YoLink Hub or the SpeakerHub - learn more here) that has an internet connection. It is possible to use Control-D2D pairing to establish links between your sensors, such as between the valve controller and leak sensors, so that the devices will operate - the valve controller will shut off the water automatically upon water detection - even if the power is out and the internet is down, but this is as a back-up or protection against those situations. For the app to work, including remote viewing and controlling of your YoLink devices, device health checks, battery level, and firmware updates from the factory, you should have a hub.
