A: The YoLink Power Fail Alarm is a smart sensor that monitors the power status of the device, activating a loud sounder and flashing LEDs when power is lost. In addition to local alarm activation, it can trigger other YoLink audible/visible alarms, the SpeakerHub for spoken messages, and send text, email, and app push notifications to users.


Q: How is the YoLink Power Fail Alarm powered?

A: The Power Fail Alarm is powered by USB, which is provided by the included plug-in power adapter. It requires batteries to function during a power outage, either name-brand alkaline or lithium batteries for extreme temperature conditions.


Q: How loud is the sounder on the YoLink Power Fail Alarm?

A: The sounder on the YoLink Power Fail Alarm produces an alarm volume between 100 and 110 dB, making it loud enough to alert occupants even in larger spaces.


Q: Can the YoLink Power Fail Alarm activate other YoLink devices?

A: Yes, the Power Fail Alarm can activate other YoLink audible/visible alarms, such as a Siren Alarm as a remote alarm device, and the SpeakerHub for spoken messages after an attention-getting tone.


Q: Can I remotely silence the alarms on the YoLink Power Fail Alarm?

A: To enable the remote silencing feature for the YoLink Power Fail Alarm, ensure that both the device firmware and the YoLink app are up to date. Once updated, you will be able to mute the alarm remotely through the device screen within the YoLink app.


Q: What happens to the YoLink Power Fail Alarm when there's a power outage?

A: In the event of a power outage, the YoLink Power Fail Alarm will activate its loud sounder and flashing LEDs. If your YoLink hub and router are connected to the internet through a UPS backup power supply, you will receive app, email, and SMS notifications based on your customized settings. If your hub does not have a UPS backup power supply, it will go offline after approximately 5 minutes, and you will receive hub offline notifications via app, email, and SMS.


Q: Can I use the YoLink Power Fail Alarm without a YoLink Hub?

A: While you can use the YoLink Power Fail Alarm without a YoLink Hub, you will only benefit from the physical alarm (loud sounder and flashing LEDs) during a power outage. You will not receive app, email, or SMS alerts without the YoLink Hub.


Q: Is the YoLink Power Fail Alarm compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant?

A: Unfortunately, the YoLink Power Fail Alarm is not compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant, as these platforms do not currently support power fail detectors. YoLink can only integrate devices that are supported by Alexa or Google Assistant.


Q: Does the YoLink Power Fail Alarm work with IFTTT?

A: No, the YoLink Power Fail Alarm is not compatible with IFTTT.
